Cherie and I have started a tradition of going to the movies for FHE on Monday Nights. (Really I don't know if it qualifies as a tradition yet. We've only done it for the past two Mondays. Erika came with us this week, so she is now joining in on the tradition.) And yesterday her co-worker told her of this cheap old movie theater in Spanish Fork. Monday nights are family nights so the tickets are only $3. Regular admission is $6. FOR NEW RELEASES. It is so awesome. And it gets even better. When you walk in there are two lines. One for just ordering tickets, and the second is for tickets and concessions. I was so excited. I got in line and got my ticket, nachos, and a large drink. All for the price of a regular ticket at normal movie theaters! So awesome. And then when you walk into the theater, it is dark. They decided not to have any lights on before or after the movie. So you have to kind of stand in the entry way for a few seconds until your eyes adjust. But then once you find your seat it's really funny to watch everyone else walk in the theater. Oh and don't sit in the back row. You might hit your head on lose wall boards! hahahaha... That theater is my new favorite place!
So here are a few of the movies I've seen in the past two weeks:
First off... Iron Man 2. I thought it was awesome. I loved it. I thought they captured the feel of the first movie, and kept it fun. I'm not a huge fan of ScarJo, so I'm lucky she's not in the movie a lot. But really, I think everyone should go see it. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one. Not as much as the first, because really... could they top that? Me thinks not.
I went and saw Remember Me at the cheap theater, on a solo date. I was really glad I went by myself. I know I liked the movie, but the jury is still out on what I think of the movie. I liked the characters, and the location. I liked the relationships. I just don't know how I feel about the ending, and what the filmmakers were hoping to accomplish. But to it's credit; I saw the movie a week ago and am still thinking about it.
So last night at my new favorite theater, we went and saw Robin Hood. I really really liked it, but I felt like it was a Robin Hood prequel. I won't say more since it's such a new release, but I did like the way it was made, and I LOVED the acting. And I usually don't like Russell Crowe, but I think he was born to be Robin Hood.
