Good times!

About 3 weeks ago I was on my way to donate blood when I narrowly escaped being hit by a truck. A teenager driver in a giant Ford F350 did a lane change without looking while talking on her phone. I went in between two lanes to get out of her way. I was fine until I got to my destination. I was early for donating, which was good, cuz now I was all shaky and my heart was racing. So I decided to go to Barnes & Noble to calm myself down. And I made some fantastic book purchases!

The First Book I bought was called Austenland. It was fantastic; just a lighthearted book about a girl who is obsessed with the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice. Her aunt then pays for her to have a all expense paid vacation to England at a resort that recreates that time period. It's awesome, and I recommend it to anyone who likes Jane Austen novels, or the movies from her books.

The second book I bought was called Water for Elephants. I really only bought it because of the cover and saw that it was about a circus. It was a really good purchase. I really really really liked this book. It is a fast and a great read. Wonderful characters.

I haven't started the third book I bought at Barnes & Noble.

Now I have a bit of bad habit. I am addicted to buying books at DI, and then just placing them on my bookshelf. I mean come on... they are only a dollar! So recently my friend Samiee read a book called Eat, Pray, Love. Now I bought this book at DI a year ago, and have never read it. So I am currently reading it and I love it. I am excited to see the movie when it comes out.

So yeah, I've been doing a bit of reading. I know I should be reading the 50 assigned plays I've been given. (For school in September) but for some reason I can't focus on that.

OH OH OH OH OH last night Cherie, Erika and I went to see the new Karate Kid movie... and it was sooooooo good! Jaden Smith is going to do amazing things in his career! So talented.

So for anyone who was even thinking about going, I have to say you should go! Loved it.

Sorry for the random post. And I promise I will update soon with how my life is going, cuz right now it's all kinds of crazy! Love you all!

Did you really post this on May 22? Somehow I don't notice your posts when they're new (I always go to Liz's blog and look at her list).

Shannon Hale has writeen some of my favorite children's books--I think I've mentioned them before, Princess Academy (Newbery Honor book) and The Goose Girl, both excellent. I've never heard of this one. I've also been wondering about Eat Pray Love, so maybe I'll have to check it out now that I have time for free reading.

Allisoni, I think I started this post on May 22, and then just now got back to it, so the date isn't accurate!

I really am enjoying Eat, Pray, Love. And I'm super excited to read more of Shannon Hales stuff.
