January...Nailed it!

So this year I have planned to do 12 one month challenges.  January's was to do 31 miles in 31 days.  I was able to check that off today at 5:20pm.

I actually did it; and it has really helped me get in the habit of going to the gym right after work, and walking with friends on days that I didn't want to go to the gym.

To help keep that habit up February will be 30 day plank challenge (and yes I realize there are not 30 days in February... it will bleed slightly into March)

***Yay for reaching goals.  I have a bad habit of making goals and then not following seeing those goals reached.  So this year is about mini (short term) goals, and hopefully I will be more successful!***

Week 3

Another week of laughter, friends, work, and grumbles.  All in all... pretty good!

Day 15: January 15th, 2014- I was not smart... I jogged for 2.5 miles and then did the elliptical for 1.5 miles, in my newer running shoes... when I forgot socks.  It is no wonder that once I got home... I found several blisters on my feet.... yikes!

Day 16: January 16th, 2014- Tonight I was craving queso... and was too sore to work out very much, so I joined my friend Aubrey at On the Border... and oh was it wonderful!  Love me the queso!

Day 17: January 17th, 2014- Today was a more difficult day at work, and so I had to give in to the McDonalds temptation, and enjoy a large Dr. Pepper and fries!  (The day after I found this gem.)

Day 18: January 18th, 2014- Had a great day today, end of a busy work week, spent some time at Aubrey's with her cats... then had a lovely evening with friends, and then had to end the night taking a large dose of benedryl! (Cat allergy)

Day 19: January 19th, 2014- SHERLOCK IS BACK!!!!!!  (That is all)

Day 20: January 20th, 2014- Today was a grand adventure... I donated blood... adventured in an Asian market Aubrey and I found, and then had a fan-fricken-tastic dinner with friends.

I think I am ready to tackle the next week... I can't wait to see what adventures will take place this week!  ***One thing... I need to stop eating out... I didn't realize I had such a problem... but it is getting to be a bit much!***

Week 2

Alright so this week I am late in posting my pictures and so this week will have a few more days.  This week was good.  Busier that I was anticipating but it was good!

Day 7: January 7th, 2014- One of my oldest (length of time knowing each other... not age) Kenzie Hanks was in town visiting family, and we had dinner. It was so good to catch up with her and see what adventures she is having in her life.

Day 8: January 8th, 2014- I was good and went to the gym right after work!  I was tired and really not in the mood to go, but I did it anyway... so that was my  biggest accomplishment for the whole day.  (Not a crazy exciting day to be sure)

Day 9: January 9th, 2014- This little blue armadillo bobblehead is my present from Aubrey that she found on her vacation to New Mexico. Aubrey, Katy, and I went to dinner for Katy's birthday and Aubrey gave us our gifts from her adventure.  I want to find a way to glue this little gem on my cars dashboard.  It is just so cute and crazy!

Day 10: January 10th, 2014- Unexpectedly I did a double at work. I was there from 7am to 11pm. A coworker had a family emergency and I volunteered to cover her shift. Luckily the emergency wasn't too serious and her daughter is okay.  I loved the overtime pay, but I didn't enjoy the 16 hour work day.  I was shattered by the end of it!

Day 11: January 11th, 2014- Tonight we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate a co-workers birthday. The wait was over an hour (I learned the Cheesecake Factory doesn't do reservations) so we explored the area a bit, and right next to Barnes & Noble there is this awesome mural on the wall. So I decided to snap a picture of it for the picture of the day.

Day 12: January 12th, 2014- I finally got to go to church for the first time in the past 3 weeks, and I was so exhausted but I did it! And I actually wore churchy shoes as opposed the moccasins I have been wearing everywhere!

Day 13: January 13th, 2014- I was able to take the Sister Missionaries out to lunch. It was also a goodbye lunch since Sister Evans is transferring to the Concord 1st Ward. These sisters are great and I love the time I get to spend with them. (Such a gross picture of me.)

Day 14: January 14th, 2014- Today has been a lazy day reading and looking up any documentaries on Operation Red Wings, the true story the movie "Lone Survivor" is based off of. I went and saw it last night with Aubrey, and I just can't stop thinking about it.  But that isn't what the picture is of today... the picture is just silly.  Our bathroom floors needed to be ripped up and redone, and it got done today; but for most of the day my bathroom has been out of commission, so I decided to take a picture of it. (And yes, we do have a pink toilet!)

Another random week... I wonder what the next week will bring.

Week 1

Happy 2014 Everyone!

2013 was a somewhat difficult year and I wanted to make sure 2014 is better.  I look back at previous years and I have to say the year that I did the picture a day blog, I still can look back and am grateful for taking those pictures and remembering really good things about everyday.  So I am going to do it again this year, and hopefully it will help me be more grateful for each day and less selfish!

Day 1: January 1st, 2014- I finally decided to take down my Christmas decorations, start of a new year and new adventures!

Day 2: January 2nd, 2014- My friend Erika and I went out to sushi for dinner. We got a free Godzilla role and it was DELICIOUS!  I love talking and eating good food with friends!

Day 3: January 3rd, 2014- Kind of embarrassing... I grabbed my gym clothes in the dark while getting ready for work in the morning.  Well I didn't notice that this was the shirt I picked out until I was in the locker room at the gym after work.   A few people near me while I was exercising sure did a double take.  (This shirt and the matching candle that you can see on January 1st sure are the best white elephant gifts I have ever won!)

Day 4: January 4th, 2014- What started out as an excuse to walk my tired muscles while talking to friends turned into spending $50.  Dang you target and your amazing dollar bin section... and most other sections that catch my eye! (Well at least I now have some Valentines goodies for my coworkers)

Day 5: January 5th, 2014- Today I got to sleep in!  Ohmygosh was it wonderful!  I sometimes forget how much I love sleeping.  The only negative being I went in for overtime so I will only have one day off this week. **sad face**

Day 6: January 6th, 2014- Today Momo (my Mom's mother) and I did some errands and then we went to lunch at Chipotle because that is a favorite of both of us. (I personally love it how Momo calls it chipolt-E)

So there you have it... my first week, and not a bad way to start the year. I personally can't wait to see what adventures await, and who I will meet, and what I will be like at the end of the year.  I can only hope and pray that I will be a better person than I am now. (Not that I am a horrible person, but I think and know I need to improve and continually strive to be a better me.)
