This past week I had the opportunity to go back to Scotland and explore a bit with my friends.
I arrived on Tuesday and walked around the mile with Stacey and Mary while Kaylee and Patrice explored the castle. Then we came to Stacey's for the evening. And when Stacey went out for her birthday dinner we got her a cake and a card. Patrice put in all the candles, and the cake turned out to look like an explosive.
The only problem was we fell asleep before we could sing to her and give her her cake. She stayed out pretty late for her birthday dinner. So we woke her up and sang to her the next morning.
After we sang to Stacey and got ready for the day we went to Rosslyn Chapel, just on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We met my friend Emma there, and toured the inside of the chapel, and the grounds surrounding it. It is a beautiful place and well worth the 7 pounds you pay to go in.
Patrice and Stacey could have spent hours at the chapel.
Patrice had a lovely way of sneaking into my pictures.
Emma and Patrice became fast friends.
The grounds surrounding the castle remains and the chapel are beautiful.
After that we explored a bit of Edinburgh, and some of the filming locations of BBC's 'North & South'.
First up was the 'London' home of Margarets aunt.
This is the home of the Hales when the move to Milton.

Right around the corner was the church they used for the locations of Mr. Hales tutoring and lecturing and the location of the meetings the mills union met. (Man I sound so nerdy explaining the locations.)
And up on Calton Hill we found many of the walks that Margaret takes throughout the film.
We also went to the old Colton Cemetery where they filmed part of the movie. We weren't sure which part, but I think it was some of Thorntons walks. We may never know... but it was a beautiful cemetary, and we did see the grave of David Hume.
