Good People!

The past few weeks two little events have stuck out in my mind showing the goodness of people; and what with the news being riddled with negative examples of humanity, I feel like sharing.

Example #1

On April 2nd I lost my wallet and didn't realize it until I got home from work at the end of the day.  The last place I remember using it was in the morning when I went to McDonalds to get my breakfast burrito.  I called the McDonalds, but I called it after 6pm (and the close at 6pm) so I didn't think there was much of a chance of anyone picking up; but they did, and they had placed a wallet that matched my description in their safe.  The next morning I went in, and the manager, who recognized me (I guess I get the breakfast burrito quite a bit) ran back to the safe and retrieved my wallet for me.  She let me know that one of the homeless men who frequents the McDonalds saw the wallet and without looking at it said that he knew it was mine and said I would be back for it.

I am so grateful that he knows me from our morning hellos, and also embarrassed that I am a regular at my neighborhood Mcdonalds. =)

Example #2

On April 5th my parents moved out of their current house into their new house. I asked a few of my friends to come help if they could, because I wasn't sure how many people were going to be there to help.  Once there Dad and I took a truck load of stuff to the new house and when we got back there was literally no where for us to park. There were trucks and SUV's all over. There were at least 10 men from church and 10 guys that are friends of friends of my dads. It was incredible!  Some clean cut guys working side by side with men who are tattooed and a little rough looking. It honestly was a great example of real charity.  They had cleared out the old house in an hour and a half! It was mind blowing.

I am so grateful for good people, and for good examples.  Thank you for everyone who shows me what it means to be a good person, and thank you for helping me see that I can continually get better and help those around me!
